Orders for a new engine component developed by one of the Big Three domestic automakers were flowing in at a brisk pace. There was just one catch. More engine components were needed to match the growing demand. That’s when Sterling Engineering and Manufacturing stepped in. We automated the thermal injection molding of starter commutators. The system includes a special robotarm capture fixture that heats the parts as they move into the die so they match the die perfectly. It was a pretty aggressive undertaking, one that allowed us to apply our years of automation and robotics knowhow. If you’re facing an automation challenge, just call us. We’ll tailor a solution to fit your needs and budget.
