You can’t...top our Topper Robotarm, that is, when it comes to fast, reliable unloading of plastic injection molding machines. In this application, a Topper reaches into a molding press, picks up two sets of toilet rings and covers, raises the parts 5 ft, moves them laterally 27ft, and then lowers and rotates the parts 90 degrees into a horizontal position for placement in a cooling and finishing machine. The PLC controlled Robotarm can be reprogrammed, to alter its sequence of moves, timing, and traverse distance. This is another good example of the Sterling “keep it simple” approach.
